Jo is a dedicated GP with over 17 years of experience working as a doctor. The first 4 working in South Africa (where she completed her medical degree) and the last 13 years within the NHS. She moved from Cape Town to London in 2011 initially working within paediatrics (at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington) and A+E (Lewisham and Chelsea Westminster) before deciding to training as a GP.
She is passionate about continuity of care and a patient-centred, evidence-based approach to her consultations. Her interests include paediatrics, women’s health and also care of the elderly. She has undertaken further training in child health, and within her South African experience gained a lot of hands on obstetrics and gynaecology experience working in a rural hospital for 18 months.
Outside of work, she is a mum to three young children; enjoys spending time exploring and walking in the outdoors, playing music when time allows, trying to keep fit by running and can get lost very easily in a good book.
