South London Listens - giving everyone a voice
Kicking off a new agenda for mental health prevention
This Winter, the first phase of a new mental health prevention initiative is launching across south London to help tackle the mental health impacts of Covid-19. NHS Mental Health Trusts and commissioners together with local authorities, Healthwatch, Public Health England, Citizens UK, Black Thrive and other community partners have come together to launch new listening campaign, South London Listens.
As part of this, Citizens UK is inviting South Londoners to sign up to training sessions to learn how to run listening campaigns in their own neighbourhood, school, faith or community group on 8 and 9 December 2020 and 6 and 7 January 2021. This will give communities across the region the opportunity to share feedback on how Covid-19 has affected their mental health. Insights will then be used to inform future phases of the campaign, which will culminate in the publication of an action plan in Spring 2021.
